For the last few days, Simtra and Chastity have been doing some basic cleanup on the old house that the Chirr'T'Thar have helped to purchase, as a combination herbalist store, home for Chastity, and "embassy" for the felitaurs. This morning, as they work, a rather worked up blue dragon is flying towards the Haven docks with a wolf on her back.
WolfSinger is hanging on to Kainudy's neck REAL tight. "Are we there yet?" he asks nervously. His eyes are squeezed close in terror.
Kainudy circles once over the docks, looking for a clear space to land. "Just about, WolfSinger.."
The people on the docks crowd in of course, looking at the blue dragon who's come back for some reason.
WolfSinger barks, "good... I hate open air flying... I'm always afraid of falling."
Grumping inwardly at the crowds taking up all of her landing space, Kainudy says back to WolfSinger, "I think I'll have to drop you off first, then land in the water."
>Chastity tromps down from the loft, brushing her hands clean. "Well!
Things
seem cleaner up in the loft, now, not that there was a lot up there.
WolfSinger barks, "well, if you start to land, I'm sure they'll move... unless they LIKE getting smooshed by a dragon."
>Simtra pants slightly as he sweeps the last of the dirt out the
front door.
A couple of fuzzy black and white furs in armor start moving the crowd back, leaving a large space to land in for the dragon.
"Crowds never move well quickly," Kainudy comments as she grabs one of WolfSinger's legs. "Someone might get hurt if they panic."
The crowd isn't that unruly as of yet, but it does take some work by the skunk guards to clear a landing pad.
Kainudy says, "Ah, you're in luck WolfSinger! They're clearing a space for me."
>Simtra looks up at Chastity coming down, "So what do we work on
now? The floor boards?"
The dragon's wings begin to backbeat, lowering her and her passenger to the ground.
WolfSinger barks, "good... I didn't feel like taking a bath in a cold ocean today."
>Chas looks down at the floor, sighs and nods. "I'm afraid so.
We need to set the floor up so it can support felitaurs."
Kainudy touches down, and says to her passenger, "You can open your eyes now and show everyone how brave you are, WolfSinger."
WolfSinger lets out a sigh of relief, opening his eyes and releasing his tight grip.
Graffi, the guard who always seems to be on duty (maybe cause he has the worst luck?), calls out, "So you're back. Who are you, and what is your business in Haven today?" as he looks at Kainudy, ignoring the wolf.
Kainudy smiles to the guard, "I'm Kainudy, and I'm here to do some shopping, if that's all right? WolfSinger here is with me."
WolfSinger climbs down from the dragon's back. He looks like he's about ready to kiss the ground.
The young skunk scritches one ear that protrudes from his helmet, "Shopping eh? Well, I can't see any problem with that, though Tanna keeps stating we're supposed to get a couple hundred pounds of dragon from one of your kids, or something like that."
Kainudy blinks.. "What do you want with dragonflesh?" She glares suspiciously at the skunk.
>Simtra looks at the floor and the pile of lumber that is stacked
up to one side of the room, "Well at least Coper said that there would
be
some help to help us with us. What were they called again?
Kittietaurs?"
Graffi shrugs, "Me? I don't really, but lots of folks think dragons are valuable. Well, the ones who don't think you are a myth anyhow. I guess it's supposed to have all these magic properties or something. Probably want to be careful around some of the townsfolk."
WolfSinger barks, "you got kids???"
Graffi asks, "Is your friend Coppernickles right? They're as big as a city?"
The crowd has been fairly quiet, apparently wanting to hear what's being said.
Kainudy turns her glare on the wolf now, "Does that surprise you?" Back to the guard, she says, "Oh, yes, some of them. They aren't the sort of dragons you're thinking of though."
Graffi nods, "I kind of thought so, but for now, we'll let Tanna think they are, so our orders to keep you safe stand. Have a good day shopping in Haven."
WolfSinger barks, "no it doesn't surprise me. It's just that, well... no one ever tells me anything. It's been a long time since I've seen a hatchling."
>Chastity chuckles and then pokes around the floorboards a bit.
"I haven't seen kitten felitaur yet truth be told."
Graffi orders the crowd to disperse and comments to one fellow guard, "Yes, I HAVE given up on ever getting that promotion."
Kainudy nods to the skunk guard, and then asks Graffi, "Excuse me, but we're looking for a specific booth. One that sells crystal sculptures?"
>Simtra keeps studying the floor himself and says, "Ah felitaur,
that was what they be called."
>Chastity chuckles softly. then pokes around the floorboards a bit.
'I haven't seen kitten felitaurs yet, truth be told.
The skunk looks over his shoulder, "Huh? Oh, probably one of the street booths. They move from day to day, try up that street first."
Kainudy nods and heads towards the street, making sure WolfSinger is keeping up.
WolfSinger barks, "hope that shop is still there.... then again there could be hundred of em...."
"So, then we find out where they ALL get their figures from," Kainudy says.
The number of street vendors along the road is higher than usual today, as a caravan from the northern part of the peninsula arrived the day before. Several of the tents seem to have figurines or carvings for sale.
>Simtra sits back on his haunches, "You haven't? I wonder what
they
are like? The adults are strange looking as it is."
WolfSinger sticks his tongue out at the crowd as they stare at Kainudy. "sheesh! You all act like you've never seen a dragon before!"
One of the vendors pipes up, "So that's what a dragon looks like? I always thought they'd be bigger and breathing fire?"
Kainudy pauses at the first booth selling carvings, and looks them over to see if they're the same material as the first one..
>Chastity chuckles softly. "Nope, never did, though I imagine the
kids must grow up quickly.
The young otter who is tending the booth for his father is very nonplussed at having a dragon for a customer and chitters, "My paw carves em all. Whatever you like, honest."
WolfSinger pants as he catches up to Kai. "Wanna split up or stick together? I brought that portable laser along...."
Kainudy hmms. "I'm looking for something done in crystal," she tells the otter, then turns to WolfSinger and says, "That might be a good idea. If I find a likely candidate, I can always call over to you."
>Sim nods and then looks at the supplies to see if there might be
a simple way to strengthen the floor.
The young otter wrinkles his nosepad, disappointed. "Crystal is too hard to carve well without it cracking. I know there is a couple places that sell stuff made out of a weird type of crystal, I think." and he points to the side street, also full of vendors this day.
Kainudy smiles and thanks the otter, "I'll be sure to recommend you to my friends, sir."
WolfSinger looks across the table. "ooooo... pretty!"
The little otter stands taller as a DRAGON calls him sir, "Thank you dragon lady."
>Chastity sighs, stretching a bit and frowning as she cricks her
back. "Maybe I'd better see if one of Coper's people can come by here.
>"Maybe one of them can find out a good way to strengthen the floor
here for them."
WolfSinger asks the otter, "Got any dragon statues? they broke my last one...."
Kainudy whispers to WolfSinger, "I'll check out that side street," then heads off in the direction the sculptor indicated.
>Simtra nods, "Ya, I don't think I would be able to doing thing on
my own."
The young otter nods and pulls out what the locals think a dragon would look like, not too far from what WolfSinger had originally, but it's jade green.
>Chastity chuckles softly. "I'm going to get upstairs and catch some
sleep, Simtra. Feel free to come and go as you please."
WolfSinger barks, "oooo! How much? Willhafta get some money and come back...."
The first two vendors along the side street have figurines, but not the figurines Kainudy is looking for, but the last one, kind of set back, seems to be th e one. A friendly looking feline is tending the booth.
>Simtra says, "Thanks miss . . .err Chastity. G'night. I will try
to keep the noise down while I work."
The otter chitters happily, "Two silvers. I'll be sure to save it for you."
Kainudy asks the feline about the figurines, "Do you carve these yourself?"
>Chas smiles, and nods. "No wild parties, I'm a bit old for them!"
she adds, and slips upstairs, leaning on her cane lightly.
WolfSinger nods!! After looking over the rest of the figurines, he wanders off in the other direction, looking for other statue vendors.
The feline purrs, "Some of them, yes indeed. But many others I purchase from artisans from all over. My..you're a...a dragon aren't you? How amazing. My name is Razder Ferian."
"Pleased to meet you, Razder. My name is Kainudy." The dragoness taps one of the crystal figures, and asks, "Do you know where this material is found?"
>Simtra tries to find something quiet to work on as so not to wake
the older vixen up.
Razder hmms, "Oh, those. That's from one of my remote suppliers. A ship comes from Turning Point, then crosses the upper part of the Haven peninsula by Gambzar, part of why they are so expensive. Why, do you want to carve your own?"
Kainudy smiles, "Oh no.. but I was thinking of perhaps commissioning a larger carving, if possible."
WolfSinger finds a few figurine vendors, one who does amethyst, another hardwoods.
The feline scritches his ears for a moment and thinks, "There is one traveler from Turning Point in town, he deals with the miners up there. His name is Simtra I believe. I bought some gems and stones from him, and gave him one of the statues for advertising purposes. I believe he is staying in the old house the Chirpy'taurs bought recently, down four blocks, then three to your left. You sure you wouldn't like to buy a smaller one for now?"
>Simtra guesses that there is not much 'quiet' work that he can do,
so he takes seat near the fire.
Kainudy smiles. Perfect! "I do like these pieces.. how much are they?"
Razder Ferian smiles ferally, sensing a sale, "Well, which piece would you like? Some are harder to carve than others."
Kainudy says, "All of them."
The feline shopkeeper sputters, "All of them?" as he looks at the 20 odd figurines on display. "Are you sure?"
"Well.." Kainudy says, "do you have any more of the crystal ones in storage, or are these all of them?"
Razder blinks again, "No, these are all the ones of that type. I won't be getting another shipment for a week or so."
Kainudy rubs her chin. "I might want those as well, when they come in. What do you want for these?"
The feline tries to hide the look of apparent joy on his face, and calms himself as he purrs, "Well, for a bulk purchase, I'd say I could let them go for 15 gold." Noting as he says this that the amount shocks several of his neighboring vendors.
Kainudy says, "Is that in coins or ounces?"
Razder purrs, "Coins. What is an ounce?"
Kainudy says, "I'll have to arrange for some local currency then. Can you hold these statues for me until evening?"
Razder frowns as he realizes she doesn't have any money on her, "Where are you going to get money like that from on short notice? I thought you wanted to buy them now?"
>A knock on the door to the old house startles Simtra from staring
at the fire.
Kainudy says, "I just need to cash in some of my credit with the Chirr'T'Thar. I'm sure they've got local currency by now."
>Simtra pats his fur back down on the back of this neck and stands
up moving to the door, "Who's there?"
Razder hmms, "Oh, yes. I remember, you are friends with that Coppernickles fellow. Well, I'm sure I can find you if need be, or at least him. So, if you can be back this evening, that's fine. For now, I'll let you take half of them, so he has no troubles understanding why the purchase is worth that much, and I will try and hold the rest till you get back."
>An otter chirps, "The supplies you ordered are down at the docks.
Ya need to sign for em and haul em up here."
>Simtra nods, remembering the order and opens the door.
Kainudy blinks, and wonders how she's going to carry them all. "All right.. I'll leave you a feather as a receipt until I can come back." She plucks one of her long wingfeathers, and offers it to the cat. The tip shines like gold, at least.
>The otter hands Simtra a sheet, "Bring that down to the docks when
you have someone to haul it away, and soon. Can't guarantee it'll be
safe when night comes."
>Simtra takes
the sheet, "Thanks for letting me know."
Razda Ferian hmms and takes the feather and puts it carefully in a very ornate cash box, covered in odd, rune-like markings. He then pulls out a gunny sack and some clean rags and starts packing the figurines, "Well, we'll have you on your way to your friend then in a moment. Wonderful doing business with you."
>Sim closes the door behind himself starts walking in the direction
of the docks with the paper in paw.
Kainudy smiles, "Thank you. The guard told me folks here would be more interested selling parts of me than selling things TO me."
WolfSinger sees the dragon down the end of the street (hard to miss a dragon!) and heads to her.
Razda Ferian nods, "Well, that is a risk. You know how myths and legends can get out of hand." He then hands Kainudy the bag and purrs, "I hope to see you shortly malady."
>The otter nods and heads back towards the docks.
WolfSinger calls out. "any luck, Kainudy"
Kainudy takes the sack, and waves to WolfSinger. Once she's next to him, she says, "Yes, I've found more of the crystals and gotten a lead on where they come from. We need to go to the house that's being built into an Embassy for the Chirr'T'Thar. It's just a few blocks from here."
>Simtra calls out after the young otter, "Say, otter. Could ya show
me who I need to give this to at the docks since it seems that you
are headed that way?"
WolfSinger barks, "oh, good! I saw a lotta stuff I wanna buy, but had no luck on crystal ones."
>The otter shrugs, "Sure. Names Jessup. C'mon though, I gotta get
back to work."
Kainudy says, "I hope they have some money at the Embassy.."
>Sim hurries to catch up to the otter, "Thanks Jessup."
WolfSinger barks, "me too! I wanna borrow a couple silvers!"
Kainudy leads the way towards the makeshift Embassy building.
Jessup pads along in a hurry, which is normal for an otter. He cuts down one of the side streets full of tent vendors.
Simtra follows the otter quickly, almost in a run, to keep up.
Kainudy removes one of the figurines from the sack and hands it to WolfSinger as they walk. "Try flashing the laser through this one, and see if it has the patterns."
WolfSinger nods!! and gets the laser from his little pouch.
WolfSinger holds the laser up to the statue and turns the laser on. "Don't know if we'll be able to see it in bright daylight, though....
Kainudy spreads a wing over the wolf to provide some shadow.
The otter slows down a little, not to let Simtra catch up, but to watch the gathering crowd that is watching a blue dragon and wolfman who is taking out an odd looking tube.
Simtra bumps into the otter and looks up to see why he slowed down so quickly.
WolfSinger barks, "hey! they're all staring at us again!"
Again, the complicated light show of digitized information dances inside this statue. Had anyone who was magic sensitive been nearby, they would have felt a surge an instant before a beam of much greater power leaves the figurine and slices through the canopy of another vendor. Someone screams, "It's one of those wolf invaders with a weapon!"
Kainudy blinks at the flash! "What was THAT?" She pulls her wing back quickly.
Simtra jumps back, hackles raised, and looks for a quick place to hide.
WolfSinger yips!! and nearly drops the figure, startled!
Kainudy eyes the figurine closely. "Hmmm, the other one didn't do that."
At this point, total panic breaks out. Thankfully for Kainudy and WolfSinger, EVERYONE runs away from them, which makes it nearly impossible for the guards to get to the pair quickly. The otter quickly deserts Simtra, running to save his own skin.
Simtra looks that he wants to run away, but his legs do not seem to want to obey him.
Kainudy takes back the figurine, and holds it up to the sunlight, turning it this way and that. "The lattice is gone now."
WolfSinger barks, "oh oh... I think we'd better get out of here...."
A large contingent of crossbow wielding guards is slowly weaving their way through the panicked crowds. One of them notices Simtra and grabs the fox, "Where's your bosses? We're not really able to deal with an invader!"
Kainudy says, "We need to find out where this Turning Point place is. That's where these things come from."
WolfSinger looks nervous as the guards get closer.
Kainudy notices the guards now, and calls over, "Hey! Are there any ships in port from Turning Point?"
Simtra stutters, "B B B Bosses? I don't have a boss. I work for myself. But don't y y you thing you have b b b bigger problems then w w who I work for?
The guard responds by raising his crossbow and aiming at the wolfman, and consequently at Kainudy too.
The guard growls, "I thought you worked for those Chirpy'taurs. By the maker, how come they are never around when you really need them?"
WolfSinger yips!! and raises his paws in the air!! "Don't shoot! I didn't do nothing! I swear!
Simtra legs fail him and he starts to fall to the ground, whimpering softly.
It's too late, the bolt leaves the crossbow from about 30 yards away, going straight towards the wolf.
Kainudy sweeps her wing out, trying to knock WolfSinger out of the way!
WolfSinger yipes!! and instinctively tries to duck out of the way.
The bolt gets splintered apart when a white object whizzes down from above. The guards are startled to see a white...feather? with black spots sticking out of the ground. And a moment later the owner of that feather lands, looking miffed, "What'd you do this time Kai?"
Kainudy says, "I bought some art!"
WolfSinger is laying down, face first on the ground, his paws covering his head.
Copernicus blinks, and looks at the smoldering halves of one tent, and then the guards who are now lifting their bows and backing off in apparent relief that someone else is here to deal with it, "Just shopping eh? Like when you needed some spirit gum?"
Kainudy waves the figurine at the felitaur. "The first one had information intercepted from your satellites in it. This one had some sort of weapon or booby-trap."
Kainudy says, "These things come from Turning Point."
Simtra notices Copernicus seems to gather himself a bit and slowly starts to stand back up.
WolfSinger looks a little embarrassed. "Oh, ummm... Hi, Coper!"
Copernicus blinks at the dragon's statement then hmms, "Let me talk with the guards first, ok? I think we should go somewhere private to talk about this. And tell WolfSinger he can get up." at which he pads off to argue with the guards.
The dragon blinks and looks down at WolfSinger. "Silly, we're already ON the ground, you don't have to cover your eyes like that!"
As Copernicus does his best to calm things with the city guard, and then goes over to deal with the irate shopkeeper, some of the vendors and city people return when they realize the danger has passed. After handing some gleaming yellow coins to the owner of the shop that was damaged, the felitaur pads back to Kainudy, "Ok, first off, where did you get these things?"
Kainudy says, "From a cat named Razda Ferian, just down that street. A felitaur bought one before and gave it to WolfSinger."
WolfSinger gets off the ground and quickly puts the communication laser back into his pouch.
Kainudy grins at Copernicus, "I was able to pick up all 20 of the statuettes for just 15 gold. I hope you have the money."
Copernicus blinks, "15 gold? So much for the myth of dragons being shrewd buyers. Fine, where is this vendor of yours?"
Simtra stands where he with his ears folded back and calls out, "Copernicus! Is that you?"
Copernicus turns his torso around and purrs, "Simtra? I'm kind of busy right now, but follow along, I need to speak to you in a bit."
Kainudy points down the side-street. "Last booth on the left."
WolfSinger barks, "and, ummmm.... can I ummmm... borrow a couple silvers? I saw something I really like..."
Simtra slowly follows beside Copernicus, making sure that the taur is between himself and the dragon and wolf.
Copernicus motions for the three to follow him as he pads down the street and stops at the last booth on the left, which is selling rock candy. The spot next to it is undisturbed.
Copernicus's whiskers are quivering.
Kainudy hmms. "That's odd. He was holding the other ten until I brought back the money.. why would he leave?"
WolfSinger blinks? "this does look like the place."
Copernicus hrrrms, and asks the vendor that is there, and then a couple others, he pads back. "How odd, no one remembers seeing a booth here. We need to get back to the house Chastity has to talk, but first, what did you need to see me about Simtra?"
Simtra hands a sheet of paper to Copernicus and stutters as he speaks, "I just got this. An otter let me know that the supplies for the house are in. He also let me know that it would not be safe for them to be left overnight. Do you know of anyone what would be able to help me get them back to the house tonight.
Kainudy nudges Copernicus. "Aren't you going to introduce us?"
Copernicus nods, "Well then, let's head down to the docks, get the supplies, haul them back to the house and...oh yes. Simtra, this is WolfSinger. And this menace to sanity is Kainudy. She's actually really nice, but don't tell her I said that. ;)"
Kainudy hmphs.
WolfSinger barks, "Ummm, Coper? can I ask a favor?"
Simtra bows slightly to both of them, keeping eyes fixed on them. "Nice to meet ya. If you don't mind me asking. . . what kind of magic was that?"
"The dangerous kind," Kainudy remarks, stating the obvious.
Copernicus turns to WolfSinger, "Hmm?"
WolfSinger barks, "May I borrow a couple silvers? I saw something I wanna get."
Copernicus hands WolfSinger the coins, and while he races off to get a non melting dragon statue, the other three collect the supplies, rent a wagon, and catch up with WolfSinger on the way to the 'embassy'. After stowing things away, they all finally curl up in front of the fireplace as the felitaur asks, "Ok, Kai, as best as you can, explain from the beginning what's going on?"
Kainudy says, "Not much to explain. WolfSinger showed me a crystal dragon he'd been given, and I noticed some traceries in the material that looked artificial. They sparkled when we shined a laser at them, so we took it to a kid named Boros and he set it up to be scanned. He managed to decode some video taken from your satellites and scout ships before the thing self-destructed and melted into goo. I thought this was something demanding immediate action, so WolfSinger and I came here to find the source of the statues. An otter directed me down that side street, where I met up with Razda Ferian, who said the crystal carvings came from Turning Point. He let me take half of them with me to help convince you that they were worth the expense, and since WolfSinger had the laser with him I had him shine it through one of them on the way to your Embassy."
Kainudy says, "The laser triggered something in the statue, and it let loose with that lightning bolt and erased whatever was inside."
Copernicus blinks, "Well, we don't transmit that kind of data around, but it's rather interesting to note. Images of our facilities? Can I see the rest of the figurines?"
Kainudy pulls them out of the sack, and looks through them at the fire. "Hmm. None of these others have the same traceries as the first two.."
Simtra stands up and walks to the the window sill, "Those kinda look like my figurine."
Copernicus takes a couple to look at them, "Did they have them when you tried to purchase them?"
Kainudy says, "I didn't examine them then.. what do you mean, Simtra?"
Simtra returns carrying an amber fox figurine, "Well look for yourself. It looks kinda like the ones your are looking at."
Copernicus hrrms and taps the communication "gem" on his arm band and asks for Boros. He has a fairly long conversation while Simtra, WolfSinger and Kainudy chat.
Kainudy tilts her head as she looks at the figure. "Do you notice anything sparkly inside when light shines through it?"
WolfSinger tilts his head, watching.
Simtra does not seem to notice Copernicus talking to his arm and replies to Kainudy, "Ya, I would see that from time to time. Would look like to look at it for yourself?"
Copernicus turns back to the crowd and hrrms, "That is rather odd."
Kainudy hmms, "Not now. We might want to try scanning it if we figure out how to not destroy the figures in the process.."
WolfSinger barks, "yeah.. all kinds of neat things popped up on the screen."
Simtra says, "Scanning? What's that?"
Copernicus frowns at Kai, "This is getting odder and odder. Boros has no memory of you two at all, nor of the figurine and the data you collected. I had another of my friends check around, and the melted remains of the figurine was found in a recycling chute."
Kainudy says, "What? How could Boros not remember?"
WolfSinger blink-blinks?
Simtra takes the figurine with him and sits down next to the fire near Copernicus.
Copernicus frowns as he holds the figurine that fired off an apparent laser beam, after a moment he frowns, "I wish I could be sure. Kai, can you detect magic in an object, or if magic was used on an object?"
Kainudy shakes her head, "What magic I know isn't.. err.. object-oriented."
Copernicus nods, "Well, we're having some of our healers check out Boros. He's not lying, but when presented with the melted remains of the figurine, he became confused. Simtra, I'd like to keep your figurine for a bit, until we get this worked out. Now, what is this about them coming from Turning Point?"
Kainudy says, "That's what Razda told me, that he got a weekly shipment of the figures from Turning Point. Whether or not they actually originate there I won't know until we can investigate."
Simtra nods his head slowly and looks a little frighten.
Copernicus hmmms, "Kai, could someone magically erase memories?"
WolfSinger barks, "this is all pretty strange... I hope Boros is okay...."
"I don't see why not," Kainudy admits. "It's not something that requires magic though, necessarily. But those merchants didn't seem confused or slow-witted when we went back, so maybe it was magic after all."
Copernicus purrs, "Would it affect you Kai?"
Kainudy glances at the wolf. "I'm shielded against that sort of thing for the most part, but why wouldn't WolfSinger have been affected? It would have had to have happened to Boros after we left, and by then the figurine had been slagged."
Kainudy says, "Was the shuttle brain's memory affected as well?"
WolfSinger barks, "good question.... unless they *WANT* us to remember for some reason. or maybe.... ::he fingers at his collar::"
Copernicus looks at the figurine Simtra had handed him and puts it in his old pouch, which was magical, but that ended over a year ago. He hrrms, "Maybe they use the figurine as a focus too. Oh, there was nothing in computer records at all, though some evidence of a recent erasure. Or maybe what WolfSinger?"
WolfSinger's ears droop as he's forced to think about something that hurts. "This collar was put on me long ago... it has certain magic properties... it could have shielded me, too."
Copernicus blinks and ruh rohs, "Joy, so that makes it more likely magic is involved. It sounds like we need to send a group to Turning Point, to check things out."
Simtra sits back and tries to understand what is being said.
Kainudy turns to the fox. "You're from Turning Point, aren't you?"
Simtra says, "Yes, I just got here from there."
Kainudy grins, "Good, then you shouldn't have any trouble getting us passage back?"
WolfSinger sighs, and whimpers softly to himself.
Simtra blinks, "Passage? Well, I kinda walked most of the way.
Copernicus hrrrms, "Well, you can walk through the peninsula, then get a boat across that small sea from what I've seen. I think we can arrange the details tomorrow morning. Till then, I have to check and see what's going on over on Nimby's Refuge."
After a few more minutes of talking, Copernicus heads off for the island, wondering who is after them now.
