Timothy's Crush

The sun is sitting low on the horizon as it prepares to disappear for another day. The Chirr'T'Thar have left, though Charon's remote and Chimera have remained on Nexus. Timothy has an agreement for the odd, rather overly friendly aliens to drop by Haven proper to talk with the trading councils. He chuckles to himself that now the Holy Bacon, which was apparently just a misreading of "Homing Beacon" is now a simple relic. He walks along, his mind full of things, till he notices someone resting at the base of a tree in the deepening shadows, looking at the river as the water flows by her feet.

The young chipmunk scholar mage pads over to Delachiel and tries to think of something to say.

Delachiel notices the young hero of the day. ~~Hello, Timothy.~~ Was there a bit of hesitation?

Timothy smiles slightly, "Hello Delachiel. It's been quite a day. I know the council is going to have fits when they find out what I've done. How are you doing? I guess it must have been nice finding all your old friends."

Delachiel nods. ~~It's... Nice. A bit odd -- I would never have imagined to encounter them, especially here.~~

There's a bit of a chuckle in the Xardeth's voice as she adds, ~~And if you're getting into too much trouble with the council, perhaps I can help. I'm good in kidnaping important persons.~~

Timothy nods, "Well, your friend, the odd looking..felitaur? Has a lot of chaos energy associated with him, but no sign of him controlling it. That may explain a few things, especially if his story about misplacing a solar system is true. Oh, Delachiel, after what we've found out, Arthur Dactyle XIII won't dare press charges on you, and I can get the guards to forget about you now. The least I can do for your help. Ah, mind if I have a seat?"

Delachiel shakes her head. ~~Please do.~~ She shifts a bit to make Timothy room. ~~And thank you for your help. I appreciate it.~~

Timothy sits down close to Delachiel, but not quite touching. He seems to be a bit uncomfortable, or nervous about something.

~~You're quite important now. I think it's wiser for all if it's not known that you know me -- if you want to see me around at all, that is.~~

Timothy starts, "Oh but I do want to see you. I'll make it clear that I don't want a roommate, so the offer of space at my cabin stands."

Delachiel stays silent for a while, then nods. She detaches the veils covering her face and brushes back the hood. There's a somewhat amused smile on her lips. ~~Even though I don't have tentacles?~~

Timothy jokes lamely, "Well, I could learn to do without I guess. You are very beautiful. But I have to ask..."

Delachiel's smiles widens a bit at the compliment. Her eyes rest on the water for a while, then return to the chipmunk, ~~Yes?~~

Timothy nods,"You look a lot like the legends, but the Scholar mage guild has never found any evidence that a race like yours ever lived on Nexus. And from what your friends say, you come from a different world?"

Delachiel sighs and stares the the water flow. After a while of silence, she nods. ~~I'm not from this world. As far as the legends go... A race quite like that exists, and I am one of them.~~ Her eyes don't return to Timothy.

Timothy looks down at his feet for a bit at that, then asks, "I find it hard to believe you are evil Delachiel. You helped me for very unselfish reasons, while my own towns people were walking over each other to get control of trade. And your friends are good people too. If a bit odd. :)"

Delachiel chuckles. ~~Odd they are.~~ She takes Timothy's hand into her gloved ones. ~~I don't think I have trouble making you accept me, Timothy. But... The rest of the world will see me as a demon, and it doesn't really matter whether I am one or not.~~

Timothy grins slightly, "Well, most of the "World" is not Haven, or Turning Point, or Northern Reach. True, in those three cities you'd have to stay veiled, at least for a while. I have a feeling that those felitaur friends of yours will eventually be enough of a handful that people won't have time to worry about you. I, I know this is silly Delachiel, but..."

Delachiel tilts her head, smiling softly at the young male.

Timothy looks at Delachiel and says shyly, "I...I haven't had many girlfriends Delachiel. And none as fascinating as you. And to have someone I can talk about magic with, someone who has seen other worlds. And someone who, who I think has a good heart. I really want you to stay Delachiel."

White teeth flash in the dusk, as the Xardeth grins. Her white eyes meet Timothy's, ~~I will stay, for now.~~ She bites her lip, holding Timothy's hand tighter. ~~But I'm an alien in this world, seeking her mission and purpose. I may leave tomorrow, I may leave in a year, but eventually I will. If you can accept that, I will keep you company.~~

Timothy nods and hmms, "And if I might choose to go with you when you leave? When the time comes?"

Delachiel smiles a soft smile, one that rests on her lips often. ~~We'll see.~~

Timothy takes a deep breath and grins, "Well, I've always dreamed about exploring other worlds. I can probably do so without you, but I'd rather do it with you. I never did understand my mother's prophecy about me until now."

Delachiel raises an eyebrow, as she shifts against Timothy's side.

Timothy grins, "She said that when love hit me, it would be like something falling from the sky, and I'd be like a moth drawn to a flame. ;)"

Delachiel leans her head against Timothy's shoulder. ~~That's very befitting -- both of me, and of love in general.~~

With a whisper, she adds, ~~I promise to do my best not to burn you.~~

Timothy finally gets up the nerve and carefully puts an arm around Delachiel and smiles, "That's ok. Love's supposed to hurt a little, or so they say. Just please don't leave without saying goodbye."

Delachiel nods, smiling. She kisses Timothy's shoulder, and huddles closer to him as the night begins to grow colder. ~~I'm glad I met you.~~

Timothy drapes his cloak over Delachiel and nods, "The feeling is mutual m'lady. Though I think your people would be as upset about me as Haven would be about you?"

Delachiel shakes her head. ~~Xardeth are difficult to upset. If one is powerful enough, no one dares to criticize.~~ She wraps her arm around Timothy's shoulders. But I bet many would find you cute and attractive.

Timothy smirks slightly, "And would that be good or bad?"

Delachiel doesn't answer, her fingers scritching trough Timothy's fur gently as she enjoys the closeness and warmth. After a while she turns her head, and whispers, her lips lightly brushing against his ear, ~~Is the spare bed comfortable?~~

Timothy swallows slightly, and nods, "Should be as comfortable as mine is Delachiel."

Delachiel lets her nose brush against the fur of the side of his neck, ~~I think I'd like to try it out.~~

Timothy carefully traces a finger along one of Delachiel's ears and nods, "Well, I found some new linen and a feather pillow for it, so it should be all set. It's a long walk for the night. Oh, but your friend can take us. I keep forgetting about him."

~~I like the night. And with you to keep me warm, I can walk. I'll see that you're safe, if that worries you.~~

Timothy grins, "You do know how to flatter Delachiel. Fine, let's get going. I'll leave the box here in Samantha's home and fetch it later."

Delachiel wraps her arm under Timothy's, walking close to his side. She raises her hood again, and fastens most of the veils as they leave Samantha's house.

Timothy has a soft smile on his face and thinks of all that he's learned in the past few days, and how much change is on it's way to Haven soon. He hugs the best change close to him and makes a silent wish to the powers that be that he and Delachiel will have a chance to spend some time together, or that at least when she does leave, he can go along somehow. And with that, the young male walks with his new friend back to Haven.
